Two Birthday Cards with One Die – Polkadooles Happy Birthday Celebration

 Hello,

Today, I’m sharing two colorful and cheerful birthday cards made using the Happy Birthday Celebration die from Polkadooles. Both cards showcase how versatile this die can be, and I’ve combined it with Distress Oxide inks for the background and coloring.

Card 1:

For the first card, I used a vibrant blend of Distress Oxides to create a gradient background. The die-cut was kept white to stand out against the colorful base. A small balloon was added to complement the celebratory theme. I finished the card by adding some splatters with water to achieve a fun, textured look.

Card 2:

For the second card, I decided to make the most of the die-cut piece from the first card. I used the letters and sentiment, “Happy Birthday,” that were cut out during the creation of the first card. This allowed me to minimize waste while adding a unique twist to the design. I colored the letters in shades of pink to contrast with the Distress Oxide gradient background. Like the first card, I included a balloon and added a small candle detail, emphasizing the festive mood. Water splatters once again helped bring the design to life.

Both cards rely heavily on Distress Oxide inks for their striking backgrounds. I blended the colors smoothly and used a light water mist to create a unique oxidized effect. The Happy Birthday die itself is incredibly detailed, making it the perfect centerpiece for any birthday card.

These designs show how you can achieve entirely different looks with one die and the magic of Distress Oxides while reusing your materials in creative ways. Which card do you like more? Let me know in the comments!

Happy crafting,
Natalia
