Mini Compositions 2 - Rectangle – Mixed Media Layout

Mini Compositions 2 - Rectangle – Mixed Media Layout

 Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing a mixed media layout created with the brand‑new Mini Compositions 2 – Rectangle from Lisa Horton Crafts. I’ve been working with this set over the last few days and it felt like the perfect moment to create a layout again - it’s been a while, and these dies are ideal for building small layered compositions.

For this piece I kept the background soft and textured, added some inky splashes, and built the focal area around the tiny rectangles. They frame the photo beautifully and add just enough structure without taking away from the messy, organic feel of the page.

If you enjoy mixing textures, layers and little details, this new release will fit right into your creative flow.

Thank you for stopping by and see you again soon. Natalia x

Destiny – Layout with Craft&You Design

Destiny – Layout with Craft&You Design

 Hello dear friends,

Today I’m sharing a layout that means a lot to me. I titled it “Destiny”, and at the heart of this piece is a photo of my daughter — a moment captured in time, full of quiet strength, reflection, and dreams waiting to unfold.

For this layout, I used beautiful papers, masks, stamps, and dies from Craft&You Design, which always help me express emotion and story through my work. I added layers of texture with Distress Oxide inks, stencils, and subtle stamping, giving the page a gentle, vintage feel.

The torn edges, scattered numbers, and little stamped cameras are not just decorative — they symbolize how memories are made of fragments, captured in seconds, but carried in the heart forever.

Watching my daughter grow and follow her own path is the most beautiful inspiration I could ever ask for. This layout is a little tribute to her journey — to her destiny.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing these tender moments with me. I hope this project brings you a spark of inspiration to tell your own story through art.

With love,
Natalia Kuzak

Create with Love: A Mixed Media Fairytale

Create with Love: A Mixed Media Fairytale

 Hello, dear creatives!

Today, I want to share with you a project straight from my heart—filled with delicate details, soft textures, and a touch of magic. This mixed media layout was inspired by the enchanting Wishmal Fairies from ABstudio, beautifully combined with the rustic charm of the Rustical Time collection.

When I saw these adorable dolls, I knew they deserved a dreamy, whimsical setting. I carefully colored them using Journal Dual Brush Pens, bringing them to life with soft, blended hues. Surrounding them with layered elements, organic shapes, and a textured background, I wanted to capture that feeling of wonder—like stepping into a fairytale world.

The base of my project is a richly textured paper from Rustical Time, which adds depth and a vintage touch. To enhance the composition, I played with contrast, adding splashes of black ink and subtle color accents. The butterflies and leaves create movement, symbolizing creativity taking flight.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope this project brings a little spark of inspiration to your day. Let me know in the comments—what’s your favorite way to add magic to your artwork?

With love,
Natalia

The Beauty Is Inside Us - LO for ABstudio

The Beauty Is Inside Us - LO for ABstudio

 Hello, dear creatives!

There’s something truly magical about bringing a vision to life through layers of paper, textures, and little details. This project is a reflection of that magic—a mix of softness and boldness, with dreamy elements that invite you into a whimsical world.

I worked with the Whimsical Fairies collection from ABstudio, pairing it with the romantic Forever Love papers. The combination of delicate vellum leaves, a beautifully intricate white die-cut frame, and soft yet striking colors gave this piece an airy, ethereal touch. The fairies, with their enchanting presence, remind me that true beauty comes from within.

Layers are my favorite way to tell a story. Each butterfly, ink splash, and torn paper edge adds depth and emotion, creating a composition that feels almost alive. I hope this piece speaks to you and inspires you to embrace the magic of creativity.

What does beauty mean to you? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! ✨

"Story" – My First Inspiration as a Guest Designer for ABstudio

"Story" – My First Inspiration as a Guest Designer for ABstudio

Hello everyone!

I’m beyond excited to share my first project as a guest designer for ABstudio! It’s such an honor to work with their stunning products and channel my creativity into something special.

I used the Rustical Time paper collection from ABstudio as the foundation for this piece. The beauty of this particular sheet speaks for itself—it’s so rich and detailed that it hardly needs any additional splatters or mixed media touches. It created the perfect backdrop all on its own.

To bring dimension and character to the design, I layered a selection of die-cuts and a decorative frame made from sturdy cardstock, all from ABstudio’s collection. Each element, from the intricate patterns to the delicate details, adds depth and a storytelling element to the composition.

The quote I chose, “The only impossible journey is the one you never begin” by Tony Robbins, perfectly reflects this project. It’s a reminder that every creative journey starts with a single step—and this one is particularly meaningful to me as a guest designer.

The final touches—featuring layered tags, soft floral accents, and the striking bird centerpiece—create a harmonious blend of textures and details. Together, they bring this story to life in a way that feels organic and true to the materials.

If you’d like to see exactly how I created this piece, head over to my YouTube channel, where I’ve shared a step-by-step tutorial. I hope it inspires you to create something meaningful with AB Studio’s incredible products!

Thank you for joining me on this journey—stay tuned for more creative inspirations to come!

Hi,

To complement the papers, I incorporated plenty of die-cuts and stamps, all from Craft&You Design. Forever Moments: A Mixed Media Hoop

Forever Moments: A Mixed Media Hoop

Hi All,

I’m thrilled to share my latest creation, a mixed media hoop featuring the stunning Lilac Euphoria Collection by 3Quarter Designs. This project beautifully combines floral elegance, rich colors, and dimensional details, making it a perfect piece to cherish forever.

Materials used:

  • Papers: Lilac Euphoria Collection by 3Quarter Designs
  • Embellishments: Fussy-cut flowers and birds from the collection
  • Background: Mixed media techniques with inks and splatters
  • Frame: Wooden embroidery hoop

How I created it:

I started with a wooden embroidery hoop and chose one of the deep purple papers from the Lilac Euphoria Collection as the base. The rich, textured design created the perfect dramatic backdrop for this piece.

Next, I layered a mix of fussy-cut flowers and birds from the collection, arranging them around a framed photo to draw attention to the centerpiece. The intricate designs in the Lilac Euphoria Collection made it easy to create a cohesive and visually striking arrangement.

To add depth, I used foam pads to lift some of the elements and splattered white and black inks to enhance the background's texture. The golden accents and warm hues of the birds add a touch of vibrancy, contrasting beautifully with the purple tones.

The finishing touch was the sentiment, "Forever Moments," which perfectly encapsulates the mood of this piece.

I love how this hoop turned out—it’s a perfect combination of bold colors, floral details, and a personal touch. I hope it inspires you to explore the endless possibilities of 3Quarter Designs' Lilac Euphoria Collection.

"Wonderful" Mixed Media Layout with Craft&You Design

"Wonderful" Mixed Media Layout with Craft&You Design

Hello, creative friends!

Today, I’m excited to share a new mixed media layout created using the stunning "Paint over the Winter" collection by Craft&You Design. This project, titled "Wonderful" was inspired by the warm and nostalgic feelings that winter can evoke, paired with a vintage, cinematic aesthetic.

Inspiration & Concept

The "Paint over the Winter" collection combines soft colors, delicate patterns, and cozy textures. I was drawn to its versatility and wanted to showcase how beautifully it works for a layout that combines warmth, storytelling, and creativity. This piece features a cherished photo, framed in a vintage style to evoke a timeless and sentimental feel.

Techniques & Materials

I layered elements from the "Paint over the Winter" collection, stamps, and dies with mixed media techniques to create depth and movement for this layout.

Here’s how it all came together:

Background: I used a neutral paper with a vintage newspaper print as my base, layering light washes of turquoise and gray using Distress Ink for a frosty, wintery effect.

Chipboard details: The filmstrip, gears, and ticket chipboards were stained and distressed to fit the theme. These elements add both dimension and a nostalgic, cinema-inspired feel.

Photo frame: The monochrome photo is nestled in a faux filmstrip frame, enhancing the storytelling vibe of the layout.

Textures and accents: Stenciling, splashes of black ink, and stamped numbers add grungy details, creating a balance between vintage and modern aesthetics.

Title & sentiments: The "Wonderful" title is a chipboard piece painted in turquoise, chosen to contrast against the softer tones of the layout and make it stand out.

The "Paint over the Winter" collection

This collection from Craft&You Design is perfect for winter-themed projects, but it’s so versatile that you can adapt it to any season or mood. I love how the soft hues and subtle patterns allow for creativity without overwhelming the design.

Tips for creating a Similar look

Use layers to tell a story: Combine papers, embellishments, and textures to guide the viewer’s eye across your layout.
Don’t shy away from color accents: A pop of bold colour, like the turquoise in the title, can make your project dynamic.
Embrace imperfection: Stenciling, splashes, and distressed edges bring character and uniqueness to your layout.

This layout was such a joy to create, and I hope it inspires you to explore the beauty of the "Paint over the Winter" collection from Craft&You Design. Let your creativity flow and experiment with layers, textures, and personal touches!

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below—what do you think of this collection?

Have you used it in your own projects?

Happy crafting!

A Little Bit of Magic in Everyday Life with 3Quarter Design's Earth Witch Collection

 Hello everyone!

I created this layout using the beautifully mystical Earth Witch Collection by 3Quarter Design. The collection's earthy tones and enchanting illustrations inspired me to add a touch of magic to my project, which features black-and-white photos of my daughter, Angelika.

For the background, I layered various papers from the collection, adding depth and texture to complement the dark green hues. I adorned the layout with florals, mushrooms, and a striking raven, enhancing the natural, mystical vibe. This combination of elements makes the piece feel both organic and otherworldly.

Capturing Memories with Adventure's Return from 3Quarter Designs

Capturing Memories with Adventure's Return from 3Quarter Designs

Hello, fellow craft enthusiasts!

There’s something truly special about working with wooden hoops in art projects. The simple, circular frame of a wooden hoop brings a sense of warmth and authenticity to any piece, adding a rustic charm that’s hard to replicate with other materials.

For my recent project, I used the Adventure's Return collection from 3Quarter Designs. The papers in this collection are filled with beautiful, travel-inspired designs that evoke a sense of wanderlust. Vintage maps, retro cameras, compasses, and travel quotes all came together to create the perfect background and accents. This collection captures the excitement of exploration and discovery, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to bring a sense of adventure into their art.

Most of the time, I create these hoop art pieces with photos of my daughter, Angelika. Using her photos adds a deeply personal touch, making each piece a unique snapshot of our memories together. The hoop becomes more than just a frame; it’s the foundation that shapes the entire artwork, creating a focal point that invites viewers to step in and explore every detail.

Wooden hoops have become my go-to medium, offering endless possibilities and a timeless aesthetic. Pairing them with high-quality papers like those from the Adventure's Return collection brings my art to life, capturing memories, emotions, and moments in a way that’s both personal and visually captivating. I’m excited to keep exploring where each new hoop will take me, as each project feels like a journey in itself!
