Layered with Love – Mixed Media MDF Journal Cover

Layered with Love – Mixed Media MDF Journal Cover

Hello everyone!

Today I’m sharing a whimsical MDF journal created with amazing products from Polkadoodles. I absolutely love working with their MDF elements — they’re such a perfect base for mixed media fun!

For this cover, I used one of the MDF house-shaped journals. I painted the surface with layers of acrylic paints and added colour highlights using Distress Oxides. The cover is built up with three layers to give it extra dimension and depth — I focused on texture, contrast, and colour blending to bring it to life.

The heart window and funky mushrooms add a playful touch, and I couldn't resist finishing it off with some ribbon ties for that rustic feel.

Hope this piece sparks your own creativity — MDF surfaces are such a joy to work on!

Thanks for stopping by!

In the Garden – Vibrant MDF Art Journal with Polkadoodles

In the Garden – Vibrant MDF Art Journal with Polkadoodles

Hello creative friends!

Today I’m excited to share my latest mixed media project using the fantastic Polkadoodles MDF Art Journal Kit. This was such a joy to work on! I absolutely love layering, painting, and bringing bold colours to life – and this time it’s all about a magical moment in the garden.

The base is made from sturdy MDF, and I painted every single element with acrylic paints. I wanted strong contrast and vibrant colours to really make the bird and foliage pop against the dark, starry background. The dimensional leaves and whimsical bird create a dreamy, enchanted forest vibe – just the way I like it!

To finish the cover, I added a playful script sentiment and some hand-drawn details. A couple of purple bows for texture, and my art journal is ready to inspire.

Let me know what you think!
Creative hugs,
Natalia 💜

Journal Cover – A Story Told in Layers

Journal Cover – A Story Told in Layers

 Hello, my creative friends!

There’s something magical about creating a journal cover—it’s like setting the stage for all the thoughts, ideas, and memories that will soon fill its pages. Today, I want to share with you my latest project, made with the "Around the World" collection from ABstudio.

I love working with layers, textures, and little details that bring depth to a piece. This cover is a mix of vintage travel vibes, warm sepia tones, and a touch of that old-world charm. The distressed edges, stitched accents, and delicate scraps of paper feel like fragments of a story waiting to be told.

The main element is a stylish, confident woman, ready for her next adventure. Behind her, butterfly wings unfold—because aren’t we all transforming and growing as we go through life? I added some small sentiments that speak to my heart:
Just be yourself – because there’s nothing more beautiful than authenticity.
Save the important moments – life is a journey, and every little detail matters.

Creating this cover felt like capturing a fleeting moment in time, like pressing dried flowers between the pages of a travel journal. Do you also love working with projects that tell a story? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Sending you creative energy,
Natalia

Collect Moments: A Mixed Media Project with Craft&You Design

Collect Moments: A Mixed Media Project with Craft&You Design

Hello Crafters :)

"Collect Moments" – a mixed media journal page created with Craft&You Design papers and stamps, with a background crafted using Distress Inks. I wanted to capture a sense of nostalgia, with a hint of summer still lingering in the air.

For this page, I used Craft&You Design materials to add a natural, delicate touch. The background, made with Distress Inks, blends warm and vibrant colors, creating a radiant effect that feels like a memory of long summer days. The silhouette of the girl and the kite give a sense of freedom and exploration, as if she’s venturing towards new horizons.

A little bit of summer today, a reminder to cherish each moment we experience.

 Hi everyone!

Today, I'd like to share my latest scrapbooking project, which took me about an hour of creative work. I hope it inspires you to create your own unique pages. You can see a page from my artistic journal, created using various techniques and materials in the photo.

To create this page, I used die-cuts, stamps, and Distress inks. The background was made using inks and applied with different techniques to achieve impressive color transitions and shading. Additionally, I used a grid die-cut as an extra background layer, adding texture and depth to the page.

Next, I added cut-out elements and stamps to create a complex composition. I used various die-cuts to create additional elements like the camera and clouds, which I carefully integrated into the whole. Finally, I added small details like arrows and clips to complete the page and give it the final touch.

Creating scrapbook pages is a great way for me to relax and express my creativity. I hope you enjoyed my project. If you have any questions about the techniques or materials used, I’ll be happy to answer them in the comments. Maybe you have your favorite scrapbooking techniques you'd like to share?

Thank you for your attention, and see you in the next post!

A Perfect Day with Coffee: An Art Journal Page

A Perfect Day with Coffee: An Art Journal Page

 Hi!

Today, I’m excited to share an art journal page I created using Craft&You Design dies and stamps. This page features writing and stain stamps that add a fantastic touch to the overall design. The universal ATC die sets prove their versatility once again in this project.

The entire piece, including the background, is colored using Distress Inks, giving it a cohesive and vibrant look. I also incorporated the "Magda's Small Tulip" flower die, which added a lovely floral element to the page.

I hope this inspires you to explore the endless possibilities of combining stamps and dies in your own projects.

Lilies - art journal page

Lilies - art journal page

 Hello,

Beautiful Lilies from a brand new collection of Polkadoodles mixed media flowers have just jumped on my art journal page. I mixed purple with brown using Distress inks and one of the oldest stencils for my background. I cut off all Lilies and placed them on my ready-made page. A few splashes on the end to make more mixed media, and my work is done :)

Hello All,
I'm popping in here today to show you one of my works using super Soup stamps from Polkadoodles. With these stamps, you can conjure up anything that your imagination tells you. I made the background using acrylic paints, a white pen, and stamps and created an unusual owl. All this was combined by an art journal page, full of colors and details.

Cosmic Adventure - set

Cosmic Adventure - set

Hello,

I love working with papers mainly dedicated to our younger children.
This time, I followed my daughter's fascination with space. She asked me for a notebook where she could write down everything related to it. I've created an entire set: a tray, pen, notebook, and an album. The tray has been covered with paper intended for the cover, so Angelika can create various cosmic scenes on it and keep everything in one place. The album has included many dies needed to decorate the pages in her art journal/notebook.
How everything looks together... I invite you to take a look at the photos.

To do my work I used the following:
#CY02 - COSMIC ADVENTURE -  zestaw 20,5x20,5 + junk  jurnal + extras
#COVER 43

I hope you like my idea.

Lemons - art jurnal page

Lemons - art jurnal page

 Hello,

For today's Polkadoodles challenge, I've prepared a simple art journal page with the collection
Funky Flowers Stamps. The best ones for me!
As a background, I created pictures of lemons from mentioned stamps and stencils and colored them with Distress Ink and watercolor paint.
My work is full of sweet colors on the one side and black and white on the other side.

Hope you like it.
