In the Garden – MDF Journal Cover
Hello everyone!
Today I’m sharing something a little different—a colourful and textured journal cover I created using one of the fantastic MDF journals from Polkadoodles. I absolutely love working with MDF because it gives me so much freedom to layer, paint, and build dimension.
For this project, I painted all the MDF elements with acrylic paints, building up the background with three distinct layers to create depth and interest. I went for rich, bold colours that really pop against the dark base, and I’m especially in love with that little orange bird in the centre—he brings the whole piece to life!
This cover feels like a walk through a magical garden at twilight, full of texture, vibrant leaves, and soft detail.
Hope it brings you some inspiration to play with layers and colour too!
