A layered love story in mixed media

 Hello my lovely crafty friends,

I’ve been diving deeper into the new Bright & Beautiful collection from Polkadoodles, and today I’m sharing something a little different - a mixed media piece created on an MDF board, full of texture, colour and heart.

This collection is such a joy to work with. It’s playful, expressive, and packed with elements that invite layering and experimentation. For this project, I wanted to build something bold yet soft, with torn edges, splashes of paint, and lots of dimension. The paper flowers, hearts and leafy die-cuts are all part of the new release, and they came together beautifully in this vibrant composition.

The chevron background adds movement, while the pinks and greens bring a fresh, romantic feel. Right in the centre, I placed the sentiment “love YOU” - a simple message surrounded by all the little details that make handmade art so special.

I love how this collection lets you mix delicate motifs with bold textures. It’s full of possibilities, and I can’t wait to keep exploring them.
