Distress Ink Night Sky Card with Hot Air Balloon – Craft&You Design Inspiration

 Hello friends!

Today I’m sharing a colourful little escape into the sky - a card that started with a simple idea and turned into a dreamy night‑time adventure. I wanted something playful, full of movement and light, so I reached for a few favourite Craft&You Design dies and let the scene build itself piece by piece.

The entire background is created with Distress Inks, blended into deep blues and purples, with a sprinkle of stars to bring the sky to life. I used a star stencil, along with gold stencil butter, to add a soft, shimmering glow - just enough to make the night sky feel magical. From there, the card almost composed itself: soft layered clouds, a bright hot air balloon drifting above the city, and tiny travel icons adding that extra touch of whimsy. The silhouette border at the bottom grounds the whole scene and makes the colours glow even more.
