Dahlia Heart Tag Card

 Hello everyone!

Some cards start with a single idea, and this one began with the Dahlia. I wanted something bold but still soft and airy, so I reached for the Dahlia Flower dies and started building the main cluster. Once the petals were shaped and coloured with Distress Oxides, they instantly became the star of the whole design.

To bring in a little sweetness, I tucked in a tiny heart from the Ribbon Tag Heart dies, and added a few delicate pieces from the Leafy Flourish dies. Those little swirls always add such a lovely sense of movement without overwhelming the main flower.

For the background, I played with the Bubbleicious Emboss‑Ink stencil - first blending a soft layer of blue Distress Oxide, and then adding Stencil Butter over the top. The combination creates this beautiful, slightly raised texture that catches the light just enough to make the whole card feel more dimensional.

Everything is coloured with Distress Oxides, so the palette stays cohesive and gentle, with that slightly chalky, dreamy finish I love. It’s a bright, happy card with lots of texture and a lovely mix of shapes — the kind of project that feels joyful from start to finish.

With love,
Natalia x
