Cosmic Card: Simple Shading and Splatter Magic with Hunkydory
Hello lovely crafters!
Today’s card takes us on a cosmic journey! I’m excited to share a fun, space-themed card that proves you can achieve a stunning, mixed-media feel using simple stamping techniques and the high-quality Hunkydory product line.
This project relies on just a few key elements to create a powerful visual impact:
The background is a blend of deep colors from the Prism Ink Pads, giving a sense of a deep, inky galaxy. To add that classic space texture, I used a water splatter technique. This reacts with the Prism Ink, lifting the color and creating those bright, starry spots across the panel.
The central focal point - a dark, circular element - adds depth and perfectly highlights the heat embossed sentiment ("Here's to you"), giving it a bright, white, and raised effect that stands out beautifully against the darker colors.
This card is a fantastic way to celebrate a special occasion for your favorite space enthusiast! It’s all about simple stamping, bold coloring, and effective background blending.

- Just For Him Stamps & Masks: I used the cute rocket ship stamps from this collection for the main images.
- Prism Ink Pads: These were essential for creating the deep, blended galaxy background, mixing vibrant blues and purples.
- Prism Alcohol Markers: The rockets were colored quickly and smoothly using these markers, giving them a bright, cartoon-like pop against the dark background.
