Sending Sunshine with April Daisy | Lisa Horton Crafts Colour Combo of the Month
Hello everyone!
Today I’m sharing a bright and happy card created with this month’s Colour Combo of the Month from Lisa Horton Crafts. The blend of Early Sunrise, Herb Jam, and Anthracite inks instantly made me think of warm days, fresh blooms, and that little spark of sunshine we all need sometimes.
For the background, I used the A Year In Bloom 2026 – April Daisy embossing folder. The detail on this folder is incredible - every petal pops beautifully once you add colour. I lightly blended the inks over the raised areas to bring the flowers to life, keeping the look soft but vibrant.
To add extra texture and depth, I reached for the WOW Embossing Powders – Muse & Maker Trio. I used Shadow Black and Embered Rust, which gave the petals and centres a gorgeous, slightly grungy contrast. The metallic warmth of Embered Rust against the soft ink blending is such a lovely combination. I also fussy-cut a few of the embossed leaves and layered them back onto the panel to add more dimension and a touch of movement - such a simple step, but it really lifts the whole design.
I finished the card with a simple sentiment: Sending Sunshine - because that’s exactly what this card feels like.
Let me know what you think and whether you’re playing along with this month’s colour combo. I love seeing your creations.
