Day 5: Shimmering Night – The Magic of Interference Inks
Hello,
Welcome to Day 5 of the 52-day stencil challenge! Today, we are taking a walk on the dark side, and the results are absolutely mesmerizing.
For today's "Blind Pick," I drew a delicate leaf and feather design. Instead of my usual light backgrounds, I decided to switch up the background and go with a deep, dramatic black.
To make the design truly pop, I used Interference Inks. These inks are like magic - they look subtle at first, but on dark cardstock, they transform into a brilliant, shimmering glow that shifts as the light hits it.
I layered different shades of blue and purple, using the stencil to build a cluster of shimmering feathers. To add contrast, I also used a bit of opaque white ink to give some of the elements a crisp, bright edge.
The final touch was a simple "Best Friend" sentiment, heat-embossed in white to keep that high-contrast look. This card feels elegant and a bit mysterious - perfect for someone special!
