Day 4: Dancing in the Rain – Resist & Blend Technique

Hello again,

Welcome to Day 4 of my 52-day stencil challenge! Today’s "Blind Pick" brought a pattern that is perfect for one of my favorite techniques.

I pulled a beautiful raindrop stencil from the deck. The repeating pattern immediately called for a watery, atmospheric look, so I decided to go with a Resist and Blend approach.

I started by using a clear medium through the stencil to create the "resist" layer. Once dry, I began blending my Cloud 9 Inks. I chose a palette of deep teals, blues, and a touch of soft grey to mimic a moody, rainy sky. The magic of this technique is seeing those crisp white raindrops "pop" through the ink as you blend over them!

To finish the card, I added a focal leaf and the sentiment "Have a wonderful day" which fits the rain theme perfectly. It’s a reminder that even the rainy days are necessary and beautiful.

I’m really loving how this challenge forces me to think on my feet and experiment with different textures. What do you think of today’s rainy reveal?
