Playing with Texture & Shine: A Card Made with Hunkydory Metallic Markers

 Hi everyone!

Today I’m sharing a card that’s all about texture, shimmer, and layered detail - created using metallic markers from Hunkydory, embossing folders, and a few extra embellishments that bring everything together.

I started with the background, using an embossing folder with a geometric pattern. Before embossing, I applied metallic marker colors directly onto the inside of the folder - this gave me a beautifully tinted, raised design once it was run through. After that, I added touches of gold metallic marker to highlight certain areas and give the whole piece a rich, luminous finish. A few decorative gems added that extra sparkle I love.

The flower embellishment was also colored with metallic markers, blending soft browns, greys, and beiges to match the mood of the card. I love how the layered petals catch the light and add dimension. And to finish it off, I added a simple “hello” sentiment on a black triangle for contrast.

This card was such a joy to make - metallic markers are incredibly versatile, and I’m always finding new ways to use them beyond just coloring. They work beautifully with embossing, die-cuts, acetate, and even stamping.

Let me know what you think, and if you’ve tried coloring directly inside embossing folders - I’d love to hear how it worked for you!

Until next time,
Natalia
